When will I receive my email to renew my scholarship?

If you are a scholarship recipient of an award that is renewed annually, you will receive your renewal instructions by email in January or February of each year. We encourage you to keep an eye out for an email from GHCF Scholarships, letting you know when it's time to log back into your GHCF Scholar account to complete your Renewal Application.

Do I need to apply for renewal every semester?

The only scholarships that require you to apply for renewal each semester are the Always Do Good Scholarship (2023 recipients) and Houston Nursing Education Foundation (HNEF). Renewal instructions will be sent to recipients of these scholarships at the end of each semester, letting them know when it’s time to renew.

All other renewable scholarships require you to renew every year in January or February for the upcoming academic year (ex: complete the renewal application in January for February 2025 for the 2025-26 academic year). 

Am I eligible to receive the scholarship, even though I do not meet the GPA requirement?

Most scholarships allow for one probationary semester. Please contact our Scholarships Team for more information.

Do I have to attend school full-time in order to receive my scholarship?

Enrollment requirements are outlined within each scholarship’s specific criteria and in your individual award letter. If a requirement for your scholarship is attending school full-time, you are expected to attend school full-time. 

Most scholarships, however, allow for one exception semester during which you’re allowed to be enrolled in less than the required hours for your scholarship. Please contact our Scholarships Team if you have questions or need to request an exception semester.
