Submitting an Application | Submitting a Recommendation Form
Why did I receive a reminder email? I thought I already submitted my application.
- If you receive an email, that means you still have an application in-progress.
- Log into your GHCF Account. If all application tasks are complete, you should see a blue SUBMIT button on your screen. Click SUBMIT to officially send your application to our Scholarships Team.
- You will receive a confirmation email from GHCF Scholarships upon submission. Be sure to check your spam or junk folders if you do not see it in your inbox. Your application status online should also update from Application in Progress to Application Submitted.
- If you received another reminder after submitting your application, that means you created more than one application. The application site will continue sending reminders as long as there is an application still in-progress. We recommend logging back into your GHCF Scholar account to delete the extra application if you’d no longer like to receive deadline reminders for that one and have already submitted one.
Why can't I click on the Submit button to officially submit my application?
- If the SUBMIT button is not available on your screen, that means your application is not complete. You must complete all tasks within the application before you can submit your scholarship application for review.
- Your Recommendation Forms must also be completed and submitted by your reference(s) before you can submit your application. Contact your reference(s) as soon as possible to ensure they are able to complete the online Recommendation Forms by the application deadline.
My reference is having trouble accessing the online Recommendation Form. What should I do?
- You cannot submit your application until your reference has completed the online Recommendation Form. We are not able to accept recommendations emailed to us or submitted after the deadline.
- If your reference is having trouble, please see some helpful tips below. We encourage you to contact your reference as soon as possible and share these suggestions.
- Search for the Recommendation Request Email in a Spam Folder. Have your reference check their spam folders, as oftentimes company firewalls will automatically filter out GHCF Scholar emails into spam. They can also search for the email by sender (scholarships@ghcf.org) or subject line (Request for Recommendation).
- Access the Recommendation Form directly through GHCF Scholar. Sometimes a school or company firewall blocks external links from GHCF Scholarships. If the email cannot be found or the link in the email does not work, a reference can access the form directly through our website. Have them go to www.ghcfscholar.org and log in using the email address you sent the request to.
If they don't remember creating an account with GHCF Scholar in the past or this is their first time providing a reference through GHCF Scholar, they can click on "Forgot your password?" to finish setting up their account. Once logged in, the reference should see your Recommendation Request on their portal. - Resend the Request to a Different Email. You, the applicant, can Withdraw and Delete an existing Recommendation Request through your application. If your reference is having trouble, try sending the request to their personal email instead. Additionally, if your reference won't be able to complete the Recommendation Form by today, withdraw the request and send it to a different reference who can complete it before the deadline.

- Your reference will receive a confirmation email from GHCF Scholarships upon submission of their Recommendation. At that time, you (the applicant) will also receive an email letting you know they completed the online form. Be sure to log back into your account once the Recommendation Form(s) is complete to finish the task and officially submit your application.
