Description
The William A. Brookshire Foundation Scholarship benefits dependents of S&B Engineers and Constructors employees.
Requirements to Apply:
- Must be a child/stepchild/grandchild of a S&B employee with a minimum of 2 months of employment service with S&B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd, or one of its affiliates as of March 31, 2026
- Other family members such as the spouse of an employee, step-grandchildren, etc. are not eligible to apply.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 (unweighted) scale.
- Students with an unweighted GPA of 2.79 or below are not eligible.
- If you are a graduating high school senior, please review this guide for instructions on converting your GPA to a 4.0 scale. GPA should be rounded to two decimal points.
- Applicant entitled to utilize only one William A. Brookshire Foundation scholarship in any given semester (i.e. UH, LSU, Texas Tech University, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, etc.)
- High School Dual Enrollment students may apply if they plan to be enrolled in college full-time during the 2026-27 academic year.
- Both new applicants and previous recipients of the scholarshp must complete this same online application.

About the Scholarship Award:
- Multiple scholarships awarded for the 2026-27 academic year. Award amount varies by college/degree type:
- Bachelor's or Graduate Degree: Up to $15,000
- Associate's Degree: $5,500
- Students may reapply as long as they meet eligibility requirements
- What can this scholarship be used for?
- The scholarship will be mailed directly to the student's college to be used towards tuition, required academic fees, and/or book expenses.
- Scholarship funding cannot be distributed directly to the student. Funding cannot be used for room and board, rent, meal plans, parking passes, or other similar living expenses.
- Are there any requirements I must meet if I am selected as a scholarship recipient?
- Recipients must attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school in the United States.
- Recipients must enroll in the following hours for both the fall and spring semesters (or be enrolled full-time according to your school if it is on a different system) unless in the last semester prior to graduation
- Minimum of 12 hours per semester for undergraduate students
- Minimum of 9 hours per semester for graduate students
- Recipients must submit college enrollment information online through GHCF Scholar the summer before the academic year begins. This information is required in order for the scholarship check to be mailed to the student's college. Instructions will be included in the student's award letter.
What Is Needed for This Application?

- One (1) recommendation form completed online. The recommender cannot be a family member.
- Transcript to confirm your GPA (unofficial transcripts are accepted)
