Description

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Residents of the State of Texas
  • Individuals who plan to enroll in vocational education or technical training program in the greater Houston area
  • Program must be offered by state-supported or public educational institutions such as public high schools, community colleges, junior colleges, and/or programs supported by the Texas Workforce Commission or similar state agencies and programs offered by county government offices
  • Priority given to graduates or former enrollees of any Federal Job Corps Program and honorably discharged veterans of any branch of the United States military
  • There are no age limits on awards

Award Information:

  • Awards will be up to $5,000
  • Recipients may receive additional awards for continuing training if the initial program is completed successfully
  • Scholarship awards may be used to cover tuition and related expenses such as fees, books, and required equipment
  • Scholarship funding may only be awarded to individuals who plan to attend not-for-profit educational institutions or participate in a vocational training program offered by state, county, or city agencies
