Eligibility Criteria:

• The Sam J. Lucas Jr. Scholarship Program was established in memory of Mr. Lucas, a former officer and director of SCI
• An employee, spouse, or child of a current employee (including children for whom an employee is the legal guardian) of SCI or any of its subsidiaries
• Full-time or part-time employees must have been employed by SCI or any of its subsidiaries for a minimum of one (1) year prior to the application deadline
  • Employee must be in good standing
  • Part-time employees must work a minimum of 1,000 hours per year to be eligible
• Must plan to be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at an accredited college, university, trade school, or mortuary school. 
• Minimum cumulative GPA to apply: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)

• One-time award
• $4,000
• Must enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester
