Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant Requirements:

• Applicant MUST have graduated from Texas high school in a county with a population of less than 60,000
  • Preference given to students from Brenham High School

Degree Requirements:

• Applicant MUST be granted admission into a nursing program for the upcoming academic year OR currently enrolled in one of the following nursing programs:
  • RN degree at a Texas community college
  • BSN degree at a public Texas university
• Must be attending a public college in Texas; no private or for-profit institutions
• Must have proof of admission into nursing school; Pre-nursing, allied health, biology, or other undergraduate majors are not considered eligible
• Minimum cumulative GPA to apply: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)

Award Information:

• Multiple awards made annually of up to $4,000
• Renewable scholarship award: 
  • Renewable for one additional year after the original award for two-year RN programs or BSN programs (up to 2 years of funding total)
• Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA required for renewal
• Must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) for both the fall and spring semesters
