Description

This scholarship is for employees and children/grandchildren of employees at the Houston Racquet Club.
Requirements to Apply:
Employment Requirements
- Applicant must be a current employee or the child/grandchild of a current employee
- Current employee is defined as full-time or part-time (with a minimum of 500 hours in the previous 12 months)
- The GHCF Scholarships Team will verify employment information with Houston Racquet Club
- If your employment status changes after the deadline, it may affect the final award determination
Age Requirements
- Children and grandchildren of employees must be 29 years of age or younger by the application deadline in order to be considered eligible.
- Age limitations do not apply to previous recipients.
- Age limitations do not apply to employees applying for the scholarship.
Academic Requirements
- Minimum cumulative GPA to apply: 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)
- Students with a GPA of 1.99 or below are not eligible.
- Please review this guide for instructions on converting your GPA to a 4.0 scale. GPA should be rounded to two decimal points.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, a previous high school graduate, or current college or trade school student
- Applicant must pursue a degree from a trade school, college, or university in the United States
- Undergraduate and graduate students eligible to apply

About the Scholarship Award:
- This scholarship is for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year.
- Award Amount - Multiple awards made annually in the following amounts:
- 2-year colleges / trade school: $3,000
- 4-year colleges / graduate school: $6,000
- One-time award. Students may reapply annually as long as they meet eligibility criteria. Maximum of 5 years of funding through this scholarship program.
- What can this scholarship be used for?
- The scholarship will be mailed directly to the student's college to be used towards tuition, required academic fees, and/or book expenses.
- Scholarship funding cannot be distributed directly to the student. Funding cannot be used for room and board, rent, meal plans, parking passes, or other similar living expenses.
- Are there any requirements I must meet if I'm selected as a scholarship recipient?
- Recipients must attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school in the United States.
- Recipients must enroll in at least 6 credit hours for both the fall and spring semesters (or be enrolled part-time according to your school if it is on a different system).
- Recipients must submit college enrollment information online through GHCF Scholar the summer before the academic year begins. This information is required in order for the scholarship check to be mailed to the student's college. Instructions will be included in the student's award letter.
