You can read more about HNEF here: www.hnef.org.

The purpose of the Houston Nursing Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to provide academic financial assistance to individuals who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a professional nursing career in the Greater Houston community and who have demonstrated strong academics, leadership ability, community involvement, and financial need.

About the Scholarship Award:

This is a renewable scholarship, meaning that if you are awarded, you are eligible to receive multiple semesters of funding as long as you continue to meet the GPA and enrollment requirements.

  • Undergraduate students are eligible to receive $5,000 per semester, up to a maximum of four (4) total semesters.

  • Graduate students are eligible to receive $200 per credit hour enrolled each semester, up to a maximum of $3,000 for the academic year. Graduate students can renew the scholarship each semester they are enrolled, through graduation from the nursing program.

This application is for students who will be enrolled in nursing school for the 2026-27 academic year (including the summer 2026, fall 2026, and/or spring 2027 semesters). Current recipients of the HNEF Scholarship do not need to complete this application again, unless you are starting a new degree program in the upcoming year (example: an undergraduate student who will be starting a graduate program in the upcoming year).
