Description

The Camden Property Trust Scholarship benefits dependents of Camden employees.

Requirements to Apply:

  • Must be a child of a current employee at Camden. Current employee defined as full-time or part-time (with a minimum of 1,250 hours worked per year). There is a minimum of 1 year of employment at the time of the application deadline.
  • Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student. The scholarship may not be used for graduate degrees.
  • Must be under the age of 25 at the time of the application deadline.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or, if not a current citizen, be a permanent U.S. resident and in the process of becoming a U.S. citizen
  • GPA for New Applicants:
    • No minimum GPA required. Academics are scored on a 4.0 (unweighted) scale. Students with a GPA below 2.5 are eligible to apply but will receive 0 points in the Academics category.
  • GPA for Previous Recipients of the Camden Property Trust Scholarship
    • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 including most recently completed semester.
  • Both new applicants and previous recipients of the scholarshp must complete this same online application.

About the Scholarship Award:

  • Multiple scholarships awarded for the 2026-27 academic year. Award amount varies by college/degree type:
    • 4-year college and trade schools: $5,500
    • 2-year college: $3,000
    • Reapply guidelines:
      • Students in a four-year degree program may reapply up to 3 years after initial award (maximum 4 years of funding)
      • Students in a two-year degree or certificate program may reapply up to one year after initial award (maximum 2 years of funding)

  • What can this scholarship be used for?
    • The scholarship will be mailed directly to the student's college to be used towards tuition, required academic fees, and/or book expenses.
    • Scholarship funding cannot be distributed directly to the student. Funding cannot be used for room and board, rent, meal plans, parking passes, or other similar living expenses.
    • Scholarships cannot be used for a summer semester or for graduate degrees.

  • Are there any requirements I must meet if I am selected as a scholarship recipient?
    • Recipients must attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school in the United States.
    • Recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours for both the fall and spring semesters (or be enrolled full-time according to your school if it is on a different system).
    • Recipients must submit college enrollment information online through GHCF Scholar the summer before the academic year begins. This information is required in order for the scholarship check to be mailed to the student's college. Instructions will be included in the student's award letter.

What Is Needed for This Application?
