Description
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a Texas resident
- Must be a first-generation college student
- Currently a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must demonstrate a history of community service
- Preferred populations: veterans, particularly service in Iraq or Afghanistan or similar
- GPA requirements to apply:
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for students pursuing a 4-year degree
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale for students pursuing a 2-year degree
Award Information:
- Four (4) scholarships awarded out:
- $3,000 for students pursuing a 4-year degree
- $2,000 for students pursuing a 2-year degree
- One-time award; previous recipients may reapply as long as all eligibility requirements are met
- Must attend a public college or university in Texas
- Must be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester
