Eligibility Criteria

• 2027-28 Academic Year
  • This scholarship is for students who will be enrolled in college during the upcoming 2027-28 academic year. 
  • Students graduating from college in Spring 2027 or earlier are not eligible to apply.
    
    
• Degree / Major Requirements
  • Undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, and trade/vocational programs are all allowed!
  • Applicant must be pursuing a degree, major, or course of study relating to a career in construction
    
    
• AGC Affiliation - Applicant must be at least one of the following:
  • Employee of an AGC Houston member firm
  • Dependent of an employee of an AGC Houston member firm
  • Intern at an AGC Houston member firm (current and previous interns welcome to apply)
  • AGC Student Chapter member
    
    
• GPA Requirement
  • Minimum cumulative GPA to apply: 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Award Information

• Award Amounts
  • Multiple awards are given each year. Scholarship award amounts will vary for each selected scholarship recipient.
  • Funding may only be claimed during the 2027-28 academic year (this includes Summer 2027, Fall 2027, and/or Spring 2028).
    
    
• What Can the Scholarship Be Used For?
  • The scholarship will be mailed directly to the student's college to be used towards tuition, required academic fees, and/or book expenses. 
  • Scholarship funding cannot be distributed directly to the student. 
  • Funding cannot be used for room and board, rent, meal plans, parking passes, or other similar living expenses.

Requirements If Awarded

• Enrollment Requirements
  
  • This scholarship does not require full-time enrollment. Part-time enrollment is allowed.
    
    
• Major / Degree Requirements
  
  • Student must continue pursuing a degree relating to a career in construction to remain eligible for funding. Changing majors or courses of study may result in loss of eligibility for the scholarship.
    
    
• Online Steps to Claim Scholarship Award
  • If selected for a scholarship, student must submit college enrollment information online through GHCF Scholar the summer before the academic year begins. 
  • This information is required in order for the scholarship check to be mailed to the student's college. 
  • Instructions will be included in the student's award letter (sent via email) if selected.

*Applicants selected as finalists will be interviewed by the AGC Houston Scholarship Committee on February 26, 2027.
