The Greater Houston Community Foundation (GHCF) administers a variety of unique scholarship funds that grant over $5.7 million annually to college students. The scholarship funds have been established by thoughtful and generous donors and each has a unique set of eligibility criteria and award structure.
Scholarship Application Info:
Greater Houston Community Foundation administers over 60 different scholarship programs, each with differing eligibility requirements. Eligibility for some scholarships may be dependent on employment, course of study, high school, or college.
When will the scholarship applications reopen?
- Most scholarship applications for the 2025-26 school year will reopen in January or February 2025.

What scholarship applications are open right now?
Application DUE January 31:
- Patrick J. Kiley/Houston AGC Scholarship - Benefiting employees or dependents of employees of an AGC Houston member firm or an AGC Student Chapter member
Applications DUE February 14:
- Fusion Scholarship Foundation - Benefiting students attending Fusion Academy and Fusion Global Academy
- Harvest Scholarship Program - Benefiting dependents of Harvest Midstream Company employees
- Hess Corporation Scholarship - Benefiting current renewal students who received the Hess Corporation Scholarship in 2022 and 2023
- Hilcorp Future Leaders of America Scholarship - Benefiting select communities across the United States where Hilcorp operates
- Hilcorp Scholarship - Benefiting dependents of Hilcorp employees
- Houston Nursing Education Foundation Scholarship - Benefiting individuals who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a professional nursing career in the Greater Houston area and who have demonstrated financial need
- Milton L. Scott Business Scholar Award - Benefiting graduating high school seniors from KIPP Sunnyside High School, Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy, or Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church
- NRG Chairman's Scholarship - Benefiting dependents of NRG employee
- River Oaks Country Club Scholarship - Benefiting employees and dependents of River Oaks Country Club
- Southwest Airlines® Community Scholarship (formerly the Southwest Airlines Scholarship) - Benefiting individuals with a demonstrated career interest in the airline industry. This can include a variety of careers ranging from being a pilot to having a role in accounting or customer service in the airline industry.
- Southwest Airlines® Founders Scholarship (formerly the Herbert D. Kelleher and Rollin W. King Scholarship) - Benefiting dependents of Southwest Airlines® employees
- Strong Family Scholarship - Benefiting graduating high school seniors from charter schools in Houston, TX

To Apply For a Scholarship:
- Create an account using your personal email address (please do not use a parent's email address).
- Review the list of scholarships available.
- Identify the scholarships that you are eligible for under Programs.
- Complete the application online (including submitting all required documentation) and remember to click the blue Submit button!
